Im about to buy some wheels for the spring...I want to get 20's but im afraid it may comprimise the ride. Im also worried that the 19's wont fill the wheel well enough though! I have the stock sportpackage suspension and I cant really afford to lower my car. What to do? CHeers!!

I have 19" wheels on my 545i with the sport pkg. I have also had my car lowered 2inches...the ride quality is just fine and it looks amazing. I'm actually going to switch to 20s this spring so I say go for it!

Did you find you lowered it because it didn't fill the well enough when it was stock? What lowering kit did you use/ pay for?

Anyone else have any comments on chosing 19 or 20. I live in TO and our roads are pretty bad

I would never get 20 inch rims.
There's just not enough tire to protect the rim when you hit potholes.

I just had to have 3 of my 19" oem m5 wheels welded due to cracks, from potholes. Even considering going to 18" if this continues...

when i put 20s on my oem sport suspension the wheel gap it created was ugly. i went with 245 30 20 and 285 25 20. very low profile. when i dropped the car it looked a lot better. my 20s dont look much bigger then the oem sport wheels but obviously its just an illusion. with the low profile tire needed for 20s its going to ride hard. mine does, just gotta be careful. One wrong pothole can destroy your happiness

I live in DT T.O and between potholes speed bumps and streetcar tracks it sounds 20;s could be a problem...maybe some spacers and lowering the car is a better idea than 20's??

Go with 20s, just avoid the potholes and you'll be fine.

i am not a big fan of lowering the car,so 19s with factory setup is fine with me.like me i use my car as my daily ride so lowering it would not make sense to me and probably cause a lot of headaches

I went with stock size 19's mostly due to the road conditions where I live. I'm perfectly happy with my 19's - just heard too many bad pot hole stories to dare going with 20's.
