18" snows vs. 17" snows

Realize that the difference between 225 and 245 is about 8%, which is pretty small, so I'd expect the difference to be small as well.

I chose to buy a set of new take-off OEM 17 wheels for ?150/$300 and fit 225/50 17 Vredestein Wintrac Xtremes. This saves the 18s from the inevitable nicks and scratches from tyre removals and installs and the smaller wheels and tyres are cheaper to replace if they suffer any damage.
