Everyone,
I have a question. I just finished looking at an 05 545 fully loaded with sport/premium and cold weather packages. I test drove and it was GREAT. The problem that I have is it had 17" wheels and tires. Now I thought that the sport package one these cars came with the 18" staggered wheels? And if so, can I get the dealer to put them on if I'm serious about buying this car, or is that too much to ask for? It is a CPO car, with 32K miles on it currently, 6 speed manual. Really Great car.
Please let me know what you all think.
Mitch

It should have come with the 18s, but maybe someone didn't want the runflats or was afraid of potholes and ditched them. The original owner also could have sold the 18s and got custom wheels, but later threw a set of 17s on before turning it back in.
I bought a separate set of 138 style 17s to use for a snow set, so look at this way: you can get the car, use the 17s for snows, and then get some great HREs or BBS wheels in 19 or 20 inch size for the summer.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I guess that could have been the case. Well, I guess if I decide to go after that car, I can use that to try and get the price down even more.
That's a good point about using the 17" for my snow setup that I will definitely need. I'm going to want 19" wheels anyway.
Thanks....

I have a 2005 545i 6 speed manual with the Sport Package. It has the 18 inch Style 124 wheels which are a part of the Sport Package. If it is a CPO you would think they would have put the 18 inch 124 wheels on it. I think you have some room to negotiate.

Brian, thanks man. That's exactly what I'm thinking...they are asking $34,9 for the car, and I was going to try and get them down to at least $32, but now knowing that the wrong wheels are on, I'm going to try and get another $2K off. We'll see.
Thanks again.

Well I would tell them that you are going to pass on the car because it does not have the Wheels that it is supposed to have (124's) . BUT you are willing to make the purchase if they sell you a set of say 128,166,172 rims for the price of the 124's (see wheels in the information section for descriptions ect) and keep the 17's for the winter.

Speaking of the price...what do you think about $34,9 for an 05 545 6 speed manual, with premium/sports/cold weather packages/Logic 7/PDC/NAV...etc. with 32K miles on it. Good Price? Oh, it's a CPO also.
Just curious what you guys think.

Another good idea. I'm not sure what wheels I ultimately wanted for the car down the road. Even if it had the 18's, they were going to get delegated to my snow setup eventually. So, this is about getting the price down of the car any way I can.

Anyone??
I'm going to try and get it down to $30-$31K
