Hi,
I have a doubt with buying either 172s or 166s for my 530d. Both would be with same dimensions 245/35/19 in front and 275/30/19 in the back.
I need some assistance in understanding following issues:
a) Did anyone had any problems with warranty repairs due to the install of M5 wheels?
b) Most of the guys here mention having 10-12mm spacers with 166s at the back.
By doing the offset calculation and having style 124 as a reference:
M172 sticks out +8mm more in the front and +6mm in the back (ET18 in front and ET32 in the back)
M166 sticks +14mm more in the front and +10mm in the back and on top of it you need a 10-12mm spacer (with it it will stick out 20-22mm) (ET12 in front and ET28 in the back)
Am I getting something wrong, or you really need a rear wheel spacer to fit it?
Thanks in advance.

Spacers and springs are not necessary for any of the OEM wheels. Like EBMSC03 said, it's all for looks.

Hi Mladen ,
If your roads in Croatia are like overhere, forget about about the 19" wheels.
You'll only spoil the car and the fine comfort of it.
If your are wise, go for OEM wheels and 225/50 17" and love the ride!
If the roads are really crappy - go for the RF's + the spare wheel.
