Is it safe to use a 15mm spacer in the rear of a 04 530i with 166 wheels? I had them with my stock wheels and dont know if i should take them off or leave them, and if i leave them will they harm anything?

M5 offset? If so the 15mm spacers would push you to ET 13...think that might work...I am sure other members will chime in to confirm...

If they don't rub and the lug bolts are the right length I wouldn't expect problems...

M5 offset 166s, to make it look like M6 offset, requires 12mm spacers in the rear.

I wouldn't think that a mere 3mm would cause problems, but you never know...

I think a 10mm in the rear is ideal on 166 M5 offsets. I wouldn't chance anything wider.

ok n00b question.... Will stock lug bolts work with the spacer? Or are longer ones recommended?

longer bolts are necessary.

as for with 166s, with the M5 offset of ET28 in the rear a 12mm should do it to bring the offset to ET16, flushed with the rear fenders.
