OT Question:
IceyTys, are you Vanilla Ice? Your pic from your avatar, your handle (Icexxxx) and location (xxxx baby) all sound/look like Ice Ice Baby....
So, are you the Ice man??
Actually thats my Madden handle Yes I am a gamer too! I usually try to stick with one name as a rule when I have to registar on a site, it makes things easier.

Although I am "Professor I.M. Nutz" on MySpace

Anyone like that handle better?

I have never update my software since I got the car from 2004/07 and touch wood nothing has gone wrong so far.
I always say if nothing is broken then dont dont do any thing to it.
But if you what some thing to work then do it.

I borrowed a friend's iPhone yesterday and tested it on the car - syncved everything no probs and made/received calls ditto. Progman upgrade cancelled

If, when I get my own iPhone, there are problems, I can always re-book it.

Since you have Navigation I would do this just to get the Search By Name feature which makes life a lot lot easier. It then gives various possibilities like adding and then searching for Full 7 char UK postcodes - something that is so badly missing on the BMW navigation systems.

Good point Bruce - I may yet press ahead with the update.

BTW Any thoughts on this thread on iPhone adapter?

Hej

The new?st PROGMAN is version 30.0 and came out 02-2008 , just for info.
Strange, BMW documentation says v29.01.01 (Target Data Status E060-08-03-525) was released in March 08. That information is contained in two different sources of BMW documentation.

Pretty sure - the last flash was done when I bought the car two years ago and had the Extended Voice Activation fitted (SA did MP3 enabling and key-fob mirror folding FOC at the same time ), they also disabled bluetooth, but fixed that FOC the next day in about 10 minutes.

There was definitely no flash done when I put the iPod integration in since I had that done by an audio dealer rather than BMW. No LCI - I recently drove an '06 M5 and the iDrive seemed to be quite different in menu structure and layout and my car definitely doesn't have the LCI graphics.

The main reasons I'm thinking about having it done are I'm about to get an iPhone, it's sooooo slow (I've read here that it's faster now) and I believe some issues with the iPod integration (such as always returning to the top of a song/playlist making it a pain to select the next album/artist/whatever) are resolved.
By checking the sticky now and then you would have much of the info you need to determin "approximately" what version you have by the date updated: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=19188&st=0
starting with post #21, then followed by updates in posts #,28, 35, and 40 you can see the PROGMAN (CIP) updates.

If your update occured "about" two tears ago your are no less than version 20.xx.xx and possibly up to v21.xx.xx. That's why (as others correctly guessed) you have v20 or higher to have MP3.
