Hi,
I've been visiting a while, but only just got around to registering!
I had my car updated to 16.2 recently, and am quite pleased I did - it sorted a lot of minor issues, especially the radio turning off
However I've just tried to use nav with UK postcode entry in the 'city' entry, and nothing happens! It used to work fine pre-update
Has anyone else had similar problems with this??

Thanks

Rich

Welcome fellow mystic blue owner.

I don't know the answer to your question but I'd like to present one of my own. Can we in the U.S. use a zipcode at all when entering the address? I can only enter a state and town unless i'm missing something.

I have entered an address via ZIP. I can't remeber if it goes in the State or City field. For which ever one it is, there will be numbers following the alphabet.

Lomag, I learned that trick here from Rudy. When entering City, scroll past "Z" and you will find numbers. They will start with the correct number for your state. E.G. for us in California I see "9". Just enter the Zip code and then select from the cities below if they overlap.

So you just enter the zipcode in the state field or city field?

CITY FIELD. After the Z you see the numbers

If you have not selected a state you will see 0-9. If you select New Jersey, you will just see "0" Click on the 0 and then you will get to choose "7" or "8' because the database knows that all NJ zips begin with either 07 or 08. As you enter numbers, your city selction below will narrow down.

not sure what s/w version my march 2005 car has but i assume its 16.2 as it came with "perspective" view etc etc.

i can enter UK postcodes no problem via the CITY/POSTCODE entry field. It normally lets me enter the first half of the post code and the first number of the second half and then you have to choose from the list of matches.

maybe your car needs to sleep on it? (i.e reboot)

another suggestion...turn on car, eject nav dvd, reinsert nav dvd, this normally causes the system to restart after a s/w update...or it used to in my old E60...just a thought.

Hi NorthernMonkey,
Thanks for the input; I'll try this in the morning. Currently, I can still enter the postcodes, but when I select 'go' it deletes the entry, leaving me only with the City entry, and no postcode. Why do these things always happen with people in the car...
I'll post my feedback!

Mine is the same as Northernmonkey's (except for the petrol smell ) March 05 build, postcode can be entered no problem.
