I have had some time now to beat the piss out of this car, but still without a direct comparisson to a 545 or 550. (hopefully soon).
The 535 is wicked fast even accelerating above 80mph. The sports auto is lightning quick so you need to be alert if you floor the accelerator. It sometimes drop down three gears which is a cool feeling.
The power is unexpected, more so than with my 545, because the inline six is turbine smooth at any RPM even up to redline. If you are shifting manually you need to watch the tach because you can't sense engine speed without it.

The engine is swell!

The high torgue at 1300 rpm is a big thing.

"Nothing can beat cubic inches" as well as a couple of turbos
in a close to perfect 0,5 litre per cylinder six-in-line...

As I was driving home tonight, it occurred to me (as it often does) just how good this car is. The car is so incredible quick and well balanced. So refined. I'm at 5500 miles, and the car just keeps getting better.

I share your sentiments. 1900 on my 535i. I will be taking it to the track real soon to get track times before the proced install. Once the procede is installed I will take it back.

But don't make your E60 look this.

At 100 mph a side slide - luckily at the track.

Still very expensive.

OUCH..

LuckilyI have been drag racing legally at the track for well over 15 yrs.
I have drived much more powerful cars than this.
Fastest car I owned was a low 10 SEC Mustang with full cage.

Always take every precaution when drag racing.. I never underestimate any car I take to the track.
