Last summer I overtook a police car at about 130 mph. In the middle of the night, on the M20. The police officer was trying hard to get a cocky remark out of me, but he didn't get one.
In the end he told me he was going to let me off, he just wanted to know what speed I was going. I told him 110.
I just came back from Rome that night, doing 150 all the way through France..
Lucky escape, I know, but it matters a lot how you behave yourself in front of UK police officers IMO. Most of the motorway coppers can judge the situation pretty well I think.
