there is a gas station that pumps 100 octane racing fuel not too far from where I live. Has anyone used octane this high in their V8s. What kind of result may one see? Pros and Cons?

If you try it, you can only use a few gallons of the stuff.....and then fill up with normal 91 or 93 for the rest.

if its unleaded 100, fill the whole tank up. Only if its leaded will you have a problem of destroying cats and 02's

Race fuel won't do anything unless you have a tune. Otherwise there will be no benefit

My Ride: I have an 05 545i. It's a manual with a few options. This is my first BMW but I don't know how I'll ever be able to switch to something else.

^^^ What he said.

Octane rating doesn't = horsepower. IF there's higher octane fuel, and IF you have the ECU tuned for that octane, then yes you will get performance gains. But on a stock car, it's worthless.

I don't know about our cars specificaly, but I head the M cars can adjust for octant by adding timing until it detects knocking with its ion current flow detector spark plugs, with 100 octane, no knocking and full advance on timing. Proably just an M thing though

+1, and even if with a tune, recommended is mixing 100 and 91 (93 in other areas) and not going a full tank of 100 octane.
