I guess it depends on how long you intend on keeping it. If you want to keep it till it dies, it's probably not a bad idea to get it. But the thing is that you can always get it later, and you can shop around between dealers for the best deal.

I personally opt not to go for extended maintenance contracts, but if you are tempted, it is my understanding that the price is negotiable.

Thats just maintenance right? Not the full bumper to bumper warranty. Read the fine print carefully. If you are just paying for 5 oil changes in advance, I'm not sure its worth it. If it is a full extension of waht you have for he first 5 years its a great deal.

Mine only covereed mechanical not electrical options like PDC, idrive, etc.

We'll see if it's worth it. I don't remember the exact cost.
I would shop around to compare prices, especially for negotiating purposes.

My salesman says there is a 60,000 service that cost's 800.00 and a 100,000 service that cost 1600.00 so the math sounds good for the 1500.00 my biggest concern is will they do the 100,000 service at 99,000 miles he says yes but he's a salesman

Since the service ends at 100k miles, have them give it to you in writing that they will provide this service "BEFORE" the 100k miles and not try to tell you that they will not operform the maintenance until 100k miles.

agree . not neccessary till it dies but probably around 100,000 miles. but even if it includes the 100,000 service which the salesman claimed is $1,600. they might ask you to replace certain parts and it'll cost you a lot more. in this case, you probably don't want to have the service done but replace your car. and they don't have to do anything but swallow your $1,500 and probably another bimmer from them .

Isn't the BMW OEM 6yr/100k maintenance upgrade 1,195 MSRP?

I have a brochure on it.
