10 / 11 2003 Production Sat & Nav

I ordered my 2004 530 in Dec of 03, and it has a 11/03 production date.
I ordered with SAT prep (which is on the sticker) and NAV ready... my car DOES have the voice button next to the Menu button near the iDrive control, wich indicates NAV ready, I believe. i don't think the newer '04 5's ordered without NAV as a factory installed option have the button. So, if my particular car has the "button" and the SAT prep, I would assume that the proper provisions are there to add both, at least once the software issue is resolved. For now, I'm sure I can add the Sattelite Radio. I just don't have any info as to when the NAV will be available as a retrofit for these cars with the proper provisions (I think only 10/03 and 11/04 production dates).
I will post more as I find it. The dealers pretty much aren't too well versed on this yet.

ryant, welcome.
I think you'll find that the 2004 model year Sirius/Nav conflict won't be solved anytime before spring. (Click here to read another recent thread that explains this better...)
The issue is with cars that have nav (which means they're using the CCC computer and not the M-ASK computer). Your car, since it doesn't have nav yet, is most likely running the M-ASK computer. If that's true, I think you're correct that you can get Sirius or nav now -- just not both.
The easiest way to tell what computer you have is to see if you have a small "cubby" in the center console below the single CD slot and above where the DSC, seat heater, or PDC switches are. If you have the cubby, you have the M-ASK system. If you don't, you have the CCC system.
(It seems that most of the software glitches lately are with CCC cars.)

Thanks for the great info! You are correct, I must have the M-ASK system as there is that small cubby, which is pretty much useless space. I will take a look at the thread you suggested for more info. I wonder if I go ahead and add the SAT now, if there will be a problem adding the NAV later if the fix becomes available, or if they must be done at the same time for it all to work. I'm waiting for more info....
