Hey all, thanks for welcoming me warmly to this forum. I have been doing some reading and didn't really get too far, well my car has around 16,000 and when the car is in "D" you can hear a humming noise coming from the engine and its pulsating like nnnnn.....nnnnnn....nnnnn. Anyone know what the issue is? it is not the climate control as I turn it on or off and this only happen when the car is warmed up to optimal temp.

Second is that my speakers in the rear have a static noise from the back.... I have tried to turn off also tried the fade and balance and no luck still has odd static issue I have no cd in there, but I think I am losing my mind,

Any help would be nice guys.

Edit 08 535i not 09 sorry

could be the wastegate, it's a known issue on the N54 engine that the wastegate can cause a slight hummmm when idle in earlier SW versions (pre 29.2), which could be the case considering you model year....this was addressed by BMW via a software update AFAIK....

The car is going in for Detail on next Monday I want to bring up the 2 issues but I don't want the SA to say oh that's normal so I am just trying to educate myself just in case I get the Boot. Does upgrading the software does fix it?

Thanks.

not sure, I have the "humm" as well as I have pre 29.2, but the intial fix from v29.2-v32.2 supposedly induced a turbo lag from leaving the wastegates open all the time, post 32.2 fixed the lag, but not sure if also addressed the wastegate hum....

another reason why I like my pre v29.2 is because it does not have tuner/manipulation detection...so easier to mod without voiding your warranty....

some research on e90posts might help as well tho...as the 335 and 535 have the N54 engine it as well..so engine/turbo problems and solutions are the same in both models
