Had car towed to mechanic yesterday. He said because of the strong smell of gas, he feels very confident that problem is leaking fuel injector in cylinder 6. Car has 152,000 miles, I love the car, and plan to keep it forever, so I am gonna have him replace all (6) injectors. I will report back once he has confirmed the problem and determines the fix.

Ouch, that couldn’t be cheap. Seems like prices have skyrocketed since a year ago when BMW changed part numbers. Mind if I ask how much? Since I’m considering them...

injectors = $2010, injector clips = $60, labor = $300. It's a lot of money to be sure, but I bought this car new, it has been pampered/garaged it's entire life, and is literally in like new condition (interior especially), I do a 100 mile Interstate daily commute...the car is beyond perfect for that...and I plan to keep it for a long time, so I decided to spend the money. Certainly, it's cheaper than a new car of this caliber. A few recent pictures.
