Hi all,
Recently bought an 08 535i, loaded in the standard sense of the word. Unfortunatly, no cd changer and no iPod so there luck is out. However, the dealer kindly provided me with the cable for the iPod with the deal; however it was not installed. How would I go about installing it? I am a diy kind of guy so I would prefer to do as much myself as I can.

BTW I did scour the forum, especially the DIY section and no luck pertaining to the 08s.

 

I have the I-POD kit from the factory. For mine it plug right into the center console - in the lower compartment facing the front.

 

Look at your sticker, does it indicate you have the iPod/USB option? If so, and I think it likely if the dealer gave you a cable, it is located in the center console as Munich points out. To properly work, the "Y" cable is plugged into the USB port and the Aux In port. Your iPod will show up on the iDrive under Aux. Seems odd that the dealer would give you the cable if you do not have the option...

No, there is nowhere for the cable to plug in, the center armrest is ventilated and there is a vent there about the same size but nothing else...
Any ideaS?
