I am planing to do it before I get the brake light on.
Please advice.

You either need to resurface them or replace them; do not put fresh pads onto glazed rotors.

Make sure that you grease all of the guide pins and utilize a quality pad like Textar or BMW- avoid Duralast and Mintex like the plague, unless you like whistling brakes. You need to replace the sensors, period; DO NOT USE THE OLD ONES, unless you want to do the job over in a few thousand miles. They may not be broken from your pad wear yet, but they get dry and age over time. They're cheap- just buy them.

Here's a good DIY- if you're not an expert brake guy, I would recommend you get help- The E60 job is not for beginners.

Thank you.

A very detailed and complete guide that I was looking for a while.

Does any one recomend the following items?

R1 Concept Eline* Drilled & Slotted for Front and Rear w/ 1 Year Warranty
- Hawk HPS Pads Front and Rear
- Pair of Brake Sensors Front and Rear

$500.00

Please advice.

Thanks again

It's a fair price for all four corners, but I only use Zimmermann or BMW Light Blue rotors.

I think many others have been happy with the Hawk pads. I'm thinking about doing the same, but maybe with the R1 premium rotors, once I need to replace my brakes.
