But it's a very good point that the oil ring may be damaged and sucking air.

If you have a replacement oil ring it would be good to replace it and test

I really thing this issue is something small
I am happy to read that you are trying to fix it

Keep listening to people's suggestions and keep trying

Great people on this site to help when ever they can
I'm very thankful for all the input, I have a feeling it's something simple also. Am I correct in thinking the solenoids have nothing to do with the transmission circulating fluid with car running and in park? I changed all the solenoids so just ruling out possible causes

The solenoids simply change the direction of the transmission fluid

They may cause a fault if they are not seated in their positions correctly causing a leak in pressure

Okay two thoughts

1: are you sure all the solenoids were seated properly?

2: are you sure you put the correct solenoids in the correct order?

Whenever I installed the new one I changed 1 at a time matching up the numbers and the snap in. I assume the long retainer bracket would not seat back down correctly if one was not pushed all the way in. Yesterday a dropped the pan and loosened valve body and retorqed in the correct order to specs, I lowered the front of the car slightly making the pan slightly higher in the rear but the car under the door was level.

If the solenoids had anything to do with the tranny pumping fluid while it was in park, I suppose I could put all the old solenoids back in like someone suggested but I just figure they play no rule in getting the tranny fluid in.

Yesterday once again I could pump close to 4 quarts in until a slow drip formed. I started the car letting it idle for 30 seconds and pulled the fill plug to find a steady slow stream coming out now that the car was running. It also through up a trannymalfunction error and dbc warning error saying car could be put into gear without pressing the brake.

I'm not the quiting type but this car is winning the fight. I found a car like mine at a u-pull it salvage yard that will sell me the transmission for 1k, if i can find a qualified bmw mechanic I may go that route if I don't figure the problem soon. Im also starting to worry that now that I tried filling so many times I fear something else may be damaged since no fluid is circulating

I would try one more thing first

If you still have the old pan, I would give it a good clean and put it back on just to check it was not the new filter causing the problem

What's your suggested cleaning method

I would clean as good as possible with some brake fluid and then try it
The reason I suggested it was because your transmission was working before even though poorly

If we know that everything else is fitted properly then I would check that it's not the pans fault

You have nothing to lose
