Thanks for the input guys.

Update: I replaced the Integrated Supply Module, P/N 12527510638. After reading about this somewhere (I can't remember what site), the symptoms I had with periodic stalling, and no start when pushing the start button, it seemed like a sure thing. I guess this has been a typical issue with the 7 series for a while. The part was $110, and took about 20 minutes to replace. I've been in and out of the car several times over the last two days, and so far, so good.

I don't think the battery had anything to do with my issues, but it was older anyways, so I don't feel so bad about replacing it preemptivly. As far as registering the battery goes, I'm going to skip it for now - i'm biting onto what smurf520i said!

Well, in the end BMW did not program it. Apparently the white batteries do not need programming, the car is not programmed to do anything about those simple batteries.
I called 2 other garages in London and I got the same story.
Watch this space.
White batteries as in non-AGM? What part number are you referring to? All the white batteries are most definitely registered and dealer should know this. I think you misunderstood. It's not the battery that needs programming, it's your vehicles electrical system. And I wouldn't call it "programming" it is simply "learning" so that you're not giving too much juice to a brand new battery.

Chief--

did the new Integrated Supply Monitor do the trick? I have the same P0335 code and starting and rough running issues.

mwolfe, I would yes. Since I replaced the module, about 2-3 weeks ago now, the car has been perfect. No wierd issues whatsoever. It's pretty short money too, and is an easy swap. You'll need to remove the passenger side cabin filter and the tray it sits in (you'll need a few sockets, I think 13mm, and a torx bit). Underneath the filter tray, there is a box, which you will need allen keys to open. The ISM is a rectangular module with several connectors on the top and bottom side.

Chief

Thanks. I did it yesterday. I had trouble figuring out where the box was until I looked in my Bentley manual. Replacing it was easy. I figured since it was only $160, the risk-benefit ratio was low. Taking it to a repair shop would be hundreds just for the diagnostics.
