I have been reading up on all the tranny issues owners are talking about (jerk coming to stop, cost/accel jerk) etc, but didn't find an issue when going from 2 to 3 in the auto-manual or SD mode. Please help. This is reproduceable 100% of the time. The car is 07 525i (10/06 build) 15K miles on it, 2.5yrs old. I am the new (2nd) owner.

usually on a stop, my auto-manual mode keeps the car in 2nd gear (shows M2 on dash). I am ok with that. When I accelerate (from stop or slow rolling), the car revs nicely and at around 3K RPM (tried 2.5K and 3.5K RPMs too), I shift to 3rd and there is a very very noticeable jerk, as if there was disengagement from 2nd and took some fraction of seconds before engaging to 3rd. This issue is more noticeable on auto-manual and on SD and not so much (less jerk, but jerk is there). There is absolutely no jerk going from 1 to 2, or 3 to 4, 4 to 5 or 5 to 6. Just 2 to 3 is the issue.

Any observation/input on this?
