After seeing the 06' e60's I love the subtle differences in the interior. I love the additional wood and the climate control knobs.

Is it easy to change the knobs to the new one? Has anyone done it before?

Here's a picture I found on this site:

There is no part number for just the knob itself. Sure they are expensive. Just be patient because ebay.de will have it someday.

I'm not sure I'm getting this.

You want to change to extended AC's knobs? Do you have a pic of the "old" ones?

The "woods" can be changed, use Search for more info about that.

There's a shitty pic (cell cam 1.3 pix) of my cars interior, but note the "normal" AC's knobs.

well exactly. this has nothing to do with the year of make. This is the actual design of EXTENDED AC CLIMATE CONTROL regardless the year on your picture!!!!!! I have this on my 2004!!!!
Those two units are completely different. It is not just the knobs that makes it different ! The whole unit is different!

see below:

standart AC UNIT system knobs - regardless year of make. same for 2003-2006

Extended AC UNIT system knobs - regardless year of make. same for 2003-2006
