Hi everybody wanted to know everybody's opinion on this one what would you choose if you had the choice both CPO an 06 525i with like 10k miles on it or a 06 550i with 50k miles on it both with pretty much same options?

Thanks

Drive both and see 4 urself which one u like better....there is nothing like the power of the V8, but for some the 525 is plenty.
The advantage i see the 525 over the 550 is that you have 90K miles remainder ofr warranty....550 only 50k miles.

Are you comfortable with the story on these two cars? 10K is very low mileage for an 06, and while that's usually a good thing, I'd be interested to know the background on the car if I were you. 10K of school runs can be pretty hard on a car. Conversely, 50K is on the high side for an 06, but then again it depends on the car's overall history. 50K of freeway miles can be less punishing on the car than those 10K of school runs, for example.

50K miles is really nothing to worry about in itself but unless you'll really be using the extra power and features in the 550, you'll probably find the 525 to be just fine. Do either of these two cars have the sport package, and are they CPO cars? If not, that might influence the decision...

i used to own a 07 525xi and now i have a 09 535xi, the 525's engine is weak but good enough for daily driving in the city, just need to push it harder for it to pass a car. Im not sure about the 550i but if gas mileage is a concern for you, then it might be a problem with the V8, it will be much more fun to drive the 550i tho. If gas and money not a concern, i would choose the 550i, can't beat the V8 =)

I would think the 550i would be driven harder since it's a V8 and everytime u step on the gas it gives u the confident to go faster and harder (imo). But I like that we all see the same benefits on the choices.

Go for the 550. There is no substitute for power.

..and it could be the other way too. The 550i didn't have to work harder to keep up. Just my two cents

IF the 550 is in good condition then go for it. With 50K miles left of warranty you should be fine.
Now if the car is for your wife don't even bother and get the 525, you'll spend less on gas and chances are you'll need the warranty more often you can use your gas savings on the extra insurance cost.

I am happy with my 525 since the power is adequate for me. So its up to you, if you like speed, acceleration and thrill with little thick wallet go for 550 , or if you care about little better mileage, less aggressive and a BMW go for 525.
