My Ride: 07 530i Silver Gray Metallic, auto, winter package, premium package, black leather.
06 530i with 11,500 miles driven in the heat of Oklahoma. I am getting a vibration in the steering wheel with the A/C on when at a stop. The idle is also 200 rpm higher than normal when at a stop. I am not sure if the cooling fan is on and that is what is causing the vibration.
I took to dealer and got the same old run around....can't duplicate fault.
Anyone having the same problem and is there a fix?
Thanks.

I have a 2006 530I also and live in las vegas. The same happens to my car. it is only when you do a lot of city driving in the hor weather. I think that the engine timing advances to help keep the engine temp down. Therefore there is a litlle more load on the engine with the compressor running. That is why you feel a slight vibration and increased engine speed. Nothing serious.

The cooling fan do not vibrate the whole car,
and for sure not the steering wheel.

The fan has nothing to do with it. It is simply a vibration in the engine from advaced spark (to help engine cooling) without any increase in fuel. The power steering pump and compressor load the engine.

PS: I don't think they have temperatures in the 100 to 118?F range in Finland (lucky guys). The problem only exists in high temepratures with stop and go driving. If you run on the highway to cool off the engine the vibration disappears until the next cycle.
