Been trying to find step by step (perhaps with pictures) on how to access my battery. It's no longer holding a charge and BMW wants $379 to replace it ... I would like to replace it myself and take it in for registration / configuration of the system with the new battery (1/2 shop time for $80).

My searching of the web page hasn't found anything (I'm sure it's my searching skills).

Thanks in advance

If you're asking where the battery is and how to get to it.. The battery is located in the trunk on the right side. You turn the 2 black "screws" 90degrees and pull them out. Lift up the spare tire cover and the carpeted area near the trunk hinge comes out. Very easy to do.
Also, check the owners manual for info.

and if its an original battery, the manufacture date is stamped on top of the negative battery post.
