Very interesting... When was 540i introduced? Last time I've checked there was none... Now I can see I was wrong... Boy, that's quick development...

I should have known... Moving from 545i to 550i was just leaving room for the 540i to fill the gap between 530i and 550i...

Im getting an X5 when the new model comes out (already have a deposit down). Will most likely go for a diesel version as SUV's guzzle petrol. Hoping the new 3.5 diesel engine will be out by then. Any chance of a 4.0 litre diesel by then (maybe a V8) ??

I presume you mean the 3 litre twin-turbo diesel? (As in the 535d)
