Yesterday the car was driving very funny....I t was shifting by itself sitting a light between 2 and 3rd and lunging back and forth. I turned it off and restarted then put it in gear and we went no where, just the engine was revving.......

Does anyone have any ideas on this...Took it to BMW and they said nothing was wrong this morning.....

Im still puzzled and BMW is still checking things out with no answer........

No clue.

Sounds like some software/TCU glitch. Being that its a safety concern I think I'd be quite forward with the dealership in finding the issue and resolving it.

Were you or they able to replicate the problem?

Sounds like a CLUTCH to me!

or the gear box......

I took it to a authorized BMW repair shop in town after the dealer said nothing was wrong with it and they advised it was the clutch slipping......

A little more information please. Mileage, has it done anything else before, has the TCU and hydraulics been replaced yet?

I won't think it would be the clutch slipping as your at a stop so the clutch isn't engaged. But then when it started jerking you said it just went into 2 and 3. Maybe in 3 it rode clutch and the system kicked it 2.....so what would make it do that automatically???? TCU, seems to be the most logical answer. Could just be one of those computer blips and you never see it again.

I have yet to hear from them today. I will call down there tomorrow and hopefully have some good news...
