Too many miles for the money, unless there is sufficient warranty remaining. Couldn't pick up the e-bay link

I think you can do much better if you are willing to go a bit higher, especially since a 545i non-sport would have a limited resale market. I just purchased a well equipped '04 545i (SMG, Sport, Logic7, NAV, HUD, etc) with 37k miles and 14 months of remaining warranty for 34,700 through a wholesale auction and passed up several lesser equipped '04 545is in the 32-33k range.

That really sounds like a good deal...Ive actually been in the market for a later, lower model but I think if I came across the right deal on an older V8 I would have to pull the trigger. Small details on the newer models are nice but the opportunity to drive a bigger one is enticing. Any info on the wholesale auction?

Hey guys -

Not that this is a HUGE help - but just in case you're interested..
I'm right at that point of selling my 545 just to upgrade to a 550. Haven't listed it anywhere yet but been looking for a 550 already.

My specs:

Miles: 72K - Totally freeway miles. I'm a consultant for Utah/Idaho/Nevada and travel everyday.
Car is extremely clean. Has alot of rock chips on the front from the freeway - the Mtech kit would take care of that

Silver/black
Every option possible.
Sport/NAV/HUD/Logic7/PDC/Ipod Retro/BlueTooth/Heated seats/Ventilated Seats/Shades/Comfort Seats/M166 Rims (new last week)
(Not the SMG model)
Does NOT have 100k cert. warranty. I got the car as a repo at the wholesale auction with 10K on it myself. So i couldn't purchase the 100K warranty as i wasn't the original owner (stupid rule i hope they change someday).
I DID GET THE 100K SERVICE WARRANTY THOUGH (brakes, services, etc)

Anyway, i think i owe 35-36. I would let it go for what i owe. Not in a crazy hurry to sell so I probably wouldn't budge off of what i owe.
Just thought I'd let you know I had one. Let me know if you have any interest.

Cheers.

Also -

Just my opinion... but i would NOT snag one without Sport/Active Steering (and HUD ). Make that your FOR CERTAIN Must-Haves for TWO reasons..

One: Resale value (not to beat a dead horse)
Two: The sport/active steering MAKES the car! A 545 without sport just doesn't handle or perform the same. It's what puts the smile on your face.

..HUD is also a necessity for me - don't know how i'd go without. The Non-sports are for sale EVERYWHERE it seems like. Search Automobilemag.com. You'll find a plethora of non-sports.

Just lending a hand.

This is the second time you've asked about this purchase. Previously I recommended 2 NJ dealers, but you still don't seem to know how to shop for this vehicle. Nevertheless, I wish you well. Over and out.

Thank you 1600. Ive actually been to Prestige and JMK where I saw a few different e60's that interested me. Both are fine dealerships I might add. As far as me not knowing how to shop for the vehicle, I'd just like to explore all my options and get as much feedback as possible before the purchase. I'm going to see and learn as much as possible about these vehicles to be sure my decision is the correct one. Don't see any harm in that. Again thanks for your input, if you don't want to respond to my posts then feel free to not read them. "Over and out"...
