i m looking for just a good car experience.....i like zippy cars both have v8s..so just want a good ownership experience.

If ur sitting in back with Driver in front , then 7series

If you are driving, then 5series

Be careful about the 7's, the first couple of years the new 7's were introdruced they were plagued with problems. Many people were returning their brand new 7's using the "lemon law". BMW had to extend the warranties on the 02 and 03 models to 6yr/100,000 because they had so many complaints. If I were you, I wouldn't look at a 7 unless its 04 or newer.

I have a 2005 545i with the 6 speed manual. It is a lot of fun to drive. My previous car was a 2000 328i. The 545i has more room inside but it is heavier. I did not consider a 745i because it was even heavier, with the same engine, and it does not come with a manual transmission.

Actually , i think if you have a family, the 7 is more safer, But if your single i would suggest the 5, but gas wise the 5 would be better then the 7, look wise the 5 is more sporty and the 7 is more luxury, i would still choose the 5 over the 7.

I think as long as it says BMW on the registration, you're likely to have a good car experience!

The 5 is newer so you'll likely benefit from a lower maintenance cost and possibly some newer technology. Also, as others have said, it'll be more fun to drive (with less backseat room as the trade-off...)

If you can wait, the new 5series long wheel base is just out... So, you can have the extra space but not as lumpy as the 7s.

I thought that was only for the Chinese market. Is that where you are or is there news of the LWB car being available in other areas?
