Today on my way to West Lake Hills (home) I ran into a CL500.He actually started with me and I finished it. He had Cornell alumni plates as apposed to my UPENN (we?re rivals) I don?t know if this was a good old school challenge or BMW vs MERC challenge.I suspect the Latter. However we were in an out of traffic bobbing and weaving until we got clear highway rolling at about 50 and gunned it. I jumped all over him and walked him about 2 car lengths (to my surprise) did he really have a chance in the first place?

He had no chance... the CL weighs as much as a house and only has 302Hp but does have 9 more ft/lbs of TQ... His car costs more tho! FOR THAT I'll buy myself a ///M5 and $10K worth of mods! |

None of the non-supercharged MB 5 liter engines will be able to keep up with the 545. I've had a couple of CLK and CL 500's try it on, they really can't keep close. :devil: Nice cars though. Would be a different story if were talking AMG models but then the 545 isn't trying to be a player in that market.

Even then I think weight could be a setback.
