New Member here. I currently own E46 & E90.

Looking to find out what things I need to look out for on 2008 535xi 176,000 miles, I just bought for really cheap. Would like to keep it running for a while... The drives well and I know the N54 have their own issues.

In the process of replacing valve cover gasket, upgraded pcv, oil cooler return hose, spark plugs and walnut blast.

I plan on doing all the fluids. I am not certain the transmission fluid was ever changed. Also thinking about running BG EPR(109) in the engine to flush out any crap in there....

As far as transmission may be remove couple qts of old fluid and add new couple times and then replace the filter..... Thoughts?

Here is the service history on it. Don't think this is complete as it was a corporate car. Few records prob missing.

36k - Brake Fluid
42k - Oil Service
61k - Replace HPFP
100k - Coolant Service
100k - wishbone left
115k- Walnut Blast
115k - Spark plugs
122k - Oil Service
130k - Oil Service
131k - Front/Rear Full Brakes
133k - Oil Filter housing, cooler gaskets. Upper Radiotor Hose & Drive Belt
142k - Oil Service
160k - Oil Service
160k - Oil Pan Gasket
175k - Oil Service
175k - Replace transfer case fluid and add posi Trac additive to resolve
shuttering between 2nd and 3rd gear. Resolved 90%. Prob need new
transfer case.May try disconnecting the wiring harness to rule out the Actuator
motor.
