Can anyone help me. I've just had a oil service from a BMW approved garage and now I'm using loads of diesel and the performance is poor in comparison. The garage say they have done nothing out of the ordinary. I'm at a loss to know what to do. I drive a 03 530d sport. Please give me some idea of what to do. Thanks Rik

Perhaps they put some heavier oil and that slows the engine a bit. Also, keep in mind that the oil has a bit of a "break-in" period - the first couple of hundred miles it is still a little too sticky, usually.

Unless the difference in performance is really drastic, I'd not worry about - it'll come back to normal in a day or two - depending on how much you drive.

All cars do that after a fresh oil change, but somehow in an E60 you get more nervous than usual It'll be just fine, don't worry...

uhm, there is no chance the shop put too much oil in, or something - is there?
