Installing BMW DSP and Satnav in E39

I have a BMW 528i Sport with the standard audio (sounds rubbish!) bought a DSP amp and loom off ebay but looks a little involved!, just cant figure out how its powered, my head unit has similar pins, does anybody know if its worth getting involved in or to quit while im ahead!!!!
