Just got myself a 1992 535i and I love it, runs pretty strong. I was wanting some suggestions of what I could do to it, mods, kits, etc. Nothing Too expensive though something decent everything is still stock. Also, it has around 234XXX miles on it so I was wondering if maybe I should be looking to rebuild the motor anytime soon? I'll take all opinions this is my first BMW!

Awesome! I'm actually looking for one of these as a project car or a e30. First thing I would do is remove the spoiler

Some cheap things you can do off the bat would be to vinyl the chrome trim black, change the emblems to black and white, get it tinted, maybe a black vinyl roof.

Omg, that thing looks like a bridge, lol.

Lmao yeah I'm not a fan of the spoiler :/ came like that, not to mention a flowmaster that makes people look around when I pass by like , "I know that sound isn't coming from that small car. Where's the truck at?!" But it ran beautifully so that's the main thing I cared about! Also had A/C which is hard to find with all the imports I had lol

Nice first BMW! I would take that spoiler off, it looks like its about to take off in to the air or something lol

Nice find. Loving the white. First mod/deletion, take off the spoiler. Once you do that, everything will fall into place.

I've always liked the e34 m5 wheels. Try looking to into that...if that's your cup of tea.

Have fun with your new bimmer dude!

5seriesmac, any updates?

Great find! The E34 535i is hard to beat ... that 3.4-liter M30 inline-6 engine is bulletproof. And the body looks to be in nice shape too. Stick or automatic?

I would have the mechanicals checked out first ... check to make sure the camshaft oil sprayer bar is tight, and that the valves are adjusted properly. If everything checks out, you should be able to double the miles on that engine!

Enjoy!

Yeah everything checked out good just needed to get some suspension work done to it, arms, struts, etc but it runs beautiful!! No problems at all. And I was actually thinking about getting those m5 wheels too.
automatic

Nice E34. I just got one myself.

Def give the car a good service, make sure everything is up to date and the car is safe. There is nothing worse than having a car broken down with expensive parts because they 'forgot' to do the basics.

Check and/or replace the cap, rotor, plugs & wires. Adjust the valves. Flush EVERY fluid (engine oil, trans fluid, diff fluid, brake fluid, coolant & power steering). Replace the belts and hoses. Check tire pressures. Replace the fuel filter, air filter and cabin filter.

Then start checking other stuff: suspension components, drivetrain bits and everything else. Make sure the car is safe and tight.
