Hey everyone,
getting ready to replace my water pump on my E28 M20. Not sure what all the tools I need to do service.I do know I need some special tools. if i cant get these tolls what other tools could I use?

Just completed the water pump and timing belt replacement today. I did not require any special tools just metric sockets and wrenches. I have a set of those ratcheting closed ended wrenches and they were a life saver. The water pump has a spring and rod that rests against it to activate the tensioner so when it falls out you know where it goes. My fan was on tight so I removed the water pump and then moved the whole assembly to the work bench. Made removal easier. The fan is left handed threads.
