I purchased a set of Xenon headlights about 6 months ago and still not found any concrete information on retrofitting these to my E60. These are standard xenon (not adaptive) and are complete units. I don't really want to do a full retrofit including self levelling, headlight washers, new LCM, etc. I already have downloaded to BMW retrofit guide.

I have come up with the following possible options: -

1. I live in hope but want to try and adjust the original wiring loom so they can be plug and play

2. Swap the halogen part of the headlight (dipped light) with the xenon reflector version and then use a 55W xenon retrofit ballast.

3. Swap the halogen part of the headlight with the xenon reflector version and then use a xenon look bulb? tacky!

4. Sell the xenons to fund a universal kit I've seem from m-style uk

I would appreciate any help,

Thanks

Dav

Option #1 is good to go.
However, use current halogen power wires to run relay to turn on new lights instead of direct wiring to existing wires.

No. They won't do it even you ask them nicely. But they'll do it if you pay them nicely

option 1 but it will still not be plug and play. requires some more modifications to the headlights themselves. I'll gather all my notes and post them in a bit.

I would say buying 55w HID H7 kit and put inline capacitor (yellow and braun wire that goes to H7 bulb now) where you plug +/- xenon kit...
