hi guys, i have just bought a 2004 530d that only had the cloth interior...now i wanted this car as it was known to me and perfect...
ok, i have just bought a compleate interior from a m sport car (heated memory leather)
i have just swaped it all over and have 2 problems
firstly i changed the front seats over with the car running..(daft i know) asnd now have a error message up saying air bag/pre tensioner fault (i expect i need to get it reset by bmw?)
secondly i have no power to either front seat? my old cloth ones were half electric (all worked) and the new ones were working when i removed them from the breaker car.,..
now could there be a fuse or relay needed for the new electric seats that i didnt have fitted or is there something i have missed?
thanks for your time and i hope to post regulary now i own her.
regards
david.

Congrats on the new (to you) car and enjoy the forums!! BTW, nice first project you've undertaken there! Good luck getting the last few bugs worked out!

The dealer can reset the airbag light.

I think the car will need to be re-programmed by the dealer to get your seats working.

Not sure where you're located, but getting the error message reset might be much cheaper at a local independent service centre rather than BMW directly (it is for me, here in the UK). However, if it needs reprogramming to get the electrics working, then I guess the main dealer might be your only option as I'm not sure whether independents can do this or not. I think I'd try a quick phone call elsewhere first to check though ;-)

I am not familiar with UK, but here's a link that will help you find a good independent BMW shop. Just click on "International" and find your country:

Hi, I guess you need to install the wiring component of the electric seats, should be available from your local authorized dealer... gl
