Hey Guys,

I hope someone can identify what I missed and perhaps show me specific steps to complete editing my Virtual Network Settings.

To Keep it simple, these are the steps I took (I am using the arrow to indicate the next consecutive sequences):

1. Start >All Programs >VMware >Virtual Network Editor

As soon as I clicked on Virtual Network Editor, I got the following screen: Please see Exhibit "A" for a visual inspection.
Upon completing the editing of the IP addresses for Subnet, the INSTALL pdf specifically instruct to Click "OK, then APPLY". I was able to succesfully click the OK tab, but could not find the APPLY tab anywhere like the INSTALL pdf and video indicated.

I repeated the same step for DHCP; and as soon as I clicked OK, I got the pop up box with error message. Please see Exhibit "B" and advise me what the Start IP Address and End IP Address should specifically be.

Athough I was able to surpass the error message by creating a fictious number (for experimental purpose to find the APPLY BUTTON), I could no save the settings at the end because there was not "APPLY" tab to click at the end nor beginning of each window.

These are the responses from the vendor:

1. The ip address should be 192.168.68.1 and the broadcast is 192.168.68.0.
2. Highlight the ip address, go to properties and make the changes. FOR EACH change, press apply or you'll get an error.
3. You are not seeing an 'Apply' button because you are in the wrong screen.

Here are my questions to the the three aforementioned items from the vendor:

1. How do I get to that screen to input the correct IP and the Broadcast address?
2. Which IP address do I highlight? How do I go to properties and make those changes?
3. How to I go to the right screen?

For anyone who are curious, this is the package that I bought: http://www.euautohau...p?id_product=23

Although, I really think I followed it precisely by carefully reading the provided instructions; and watching the provided video for the not exact package, I am not getting the functionality or results I anticipated.

Thank you in advance for your help and providing more specific info for current and future buyers.

PS: I am using Dell XPS laptop with Windows 7 professional (32-bit). Thus far, I have not yet found a lead to correcting my issues from BMW Coding Forum.

Follow step-by-step instructions in the installation video (in one of the DVDs you received).

First your laptop was opening a registry file with notepad and you didn't know why and now this? You're really just diving into computer world I see.

There was a video and also a adobe pdf file. I followed it fine and had no problems. I just read above and that's right. Look at your subnet! It's not 192.186.68.0 so how can you have an IP address of 192.168.68.1 ? Change the subnet first, press apply then change the IP address and press apply. It's extremely simple. You could also go into your adapter' settings and change but it's the same thing. This just gives you a better interface.
