Has anyone hardwired their V1 radar detector onto their E60? My 530xi will arrives within two weeks and I am interested if anyone can post pictures or guidelines on how to do it. Thanks a lot!

I found instructions somewhere online, I think it was on this site in the accessories/mods/DIY section, which were excellent. Do a search and you will find them. It was slightly more difficult than when I did it in my E46 since there are a lot more wires up there, but still pretty easy.

I installed mine on the right side of the rearview mirror so I could put my sunvisor all the way down. That always annoyed me in my E46 with the v1 on the left side of the mirror.

I'd love to see a bluetooth spec emerge for radar detectors. Imagine if you could pair the unit to iDrive so that the alerts came in through the screen.

That's a heck of a good idea. I'd like to see that along side my bluetooth ipod.

Thanks Rodney. The problem with mounting on the right side is that the wife cannot use the sun visor fully.

Guys, we need to stay on the Stealth One folks to get them to support the Valentine box for E60. Used in the X5 that way, great! Go to their site, email and let them know we want the box!

The more "inconvenient" I make it for the wife to ride the better. Then we can take her car and keep the miles off mine.

Although not hard wired, my V1 is on the right (correct) side of the mirror. Extra long cable run to the foot well outlet and is completely hidden from view. What started out as temporary configuration until install of K40 Undetectable radar/laser system has turned out so well that I have delayed further effort, especially when the M6 looms on my horizon ? well maybe a far horizon, but it is getting closer.

Here's a link with my V1 hardwire install. Main unit just to left of rear view mirror and concealed display in front of the (useless) MPG gauge:
