The car was almost completely dead. There was a gong here and there, and the nav screen tried to start up. The dash lights were very slow to light up from dim. I saw a symbol of a car on a lift, as well. I remember the power seats didn't work.

The car made it to the dealer. They are going to have a look today and let me know what they find out.

my car couldnt start up before, i tried to jump from the front, under the hood, still didnt start up
so tried the trunk, directly plug into the battery, and it started up fine

it was the battery issue, BMW replaced the battery, so far so good

Thanks, next time I'll try connecting directly to the battery.

I got the car back last night. The dealer said the parking lights were left on, which I don't understand for 2 reasons: (1) I always leave my headlight switch in the AUTO position; (2) I thought the lights turned off automatically when you turn off the car after a few minutes even if you leave the switch in the on position.

They charged me $60 for the battery charge, and $6 for shop materials...............

If you flick the turn signal lever after turning off the car (accidentally?), the parking lights on one side of the car will stay lit (this feature is meant for parking on narrow European streets)

You learn something new everyday. I came out to my car a few mornings and noticed one side of the parking lights were on. I just chalked it up to those pesky gremlins.
