The shop I went to in San Diego used a film called Oracal. This shop has been in the game for a long time. The owner says they used to use Laminex film but have found over the last couple years that Oracal performs better for the function of tail light tinting.

Good luck!

I did use the spray can because I didnt have this can form for my gravity feed gun. However If you have a gun available get some clear coat and use that instead. If you dont have that available and do go with can form make sure you use Dupli-color Professional Fan Spray type can. Get practice spraying too. take your lamps out do not attempt to do while on car. It's simply NOT worth it to make that mistake. LOL. Pics are in my gallery. If you want night pics I'll snap some too.

You can get taillight film on ebay, and there are about 50 videos on youtube about how to do it. I did my rear turn signals, not super easy, but did it with 0 experience.

Carcustomz.com. That's where I got mine from, for my E60's. The X was sprayed.
