what exactly does the SZL sensor do and where can i find one?!?!?!?!?!

Steering Angle Sensor. Steering column and dealer? It's about a $500 piece. It's also a control module that mounts the turn signal stalk, cruise control, other functions on the steering column. If the SZL goes bad, you would get DSC errors on the iDrive.

And you DSC will be disable, so dont push it in rain / snow
Just got a new one on my 535D glad it was on warranty.
