steering wheel button rattle
#1
Can I get under 1 or 2 without disconnecting the battery? How would I do it?
I'm trying to fix my VOL - from rattling when I'm driving it's so annoying. If I hold the VOL - button down it stops rattling or if I put my finger underneath panel 2 it stops too. There's a tiny gap underneath panel 2 I could probably stick a thin piece of rubber or foam to fill in the tiny gap but I'm trying to avoid making it bigger and more loose. Trying to find a more permanent solution.

Mine is rattling there also. Stuck a small piece of cardboard in the gap to silence it as a temporary fix. I haven't tried prying it off yet for a more permanent fix.

My Ride: Stock for now
I have the same thing on my 04 545i. I read a post here a while back where someone too some black painters putty and put a small abount in between the buttons and it stopped the rattle and the buttons worked fine. I put a little piece of black card board in between mine and that did the trick for me.

I had this problem with my voice button. I was dumb, and just ripped it of with a tiny flat sqrewdriver, gently and without damaging the button. Then glued it back on. Pure luck, but beats paying the local BMW dealer 700 bucks for the job. Works perfectly now! I can't recomend this for the volum button, since it's a diffrent button.. I'm from Norway and my english sucks! I'm only here for the M tech DIY =P
