I've recently bough an ipod kit and installed it yesterday. Although all went as planned i'm having trouble veryfing the installation.
The car is not coded for an ipod yet but is going to on Wednesday. I want to check everything is ok before i give the car to the dealership for coding. I've read here in the forum that once connected, the ipod must show the BMW logo in screen.
So i connected the ipod and no BMW logo appeared, just the appple logo and below sais "connected, ok to disconnect" . Does that mean something is wrong ie. fiber cables other way around ? Could the optic cable is the reason why i'm not seeing the BMW logo appearing or it's normal not to appear in some cars ?
Any help appreciated
Thanks

Man it's been a while since I did the ipod DIY...
I do remember the BMW logo popping up and thinking I wouldn't have to get the car coded for the ipod. I did take it to the dealer for the coding.
I don't think the connections are interchangeable but swap the connections if its doable and make sure everything is connected properly.
If the fiber optic loop is not complete you will get a Bluetooth/telecommunications error on the Idrive.
