Does anyone know how to remove the side mirror? Some guy swiped my car by the driver side but good thing is that only my driver side mirror was destroyed. I got a replacement from a junk yard, but I don't know how to remove it. Does anyone know how to take out the side mirror?

Thanks

You have to remove it from the side airbag from the side doors. I'm not really sure about the whole procedure.. maybe you can bring it to your nearest dealer and they will sort it out for you..

And Welcome LArider!

Here is a link to instructions I posted a long time ago -- before the forum allowed a .pdf post:

Let me know if you need me to re-post it in .pdf format.

Good luck...

I just realized that the old instructions only give you information on the mirror housing and not the entire mirror.

If removing the housing doesn't expose screws, etc. to allow you to remove the entire mirror, let me know.

Okay, here's a more complex set of instructions to help remove the entire mirror and not just the cover as I described earlier.

Here are the main instructions (keep reading this post for the preliminary steps.)
Attachment 5369

According to the above instructions, there is a preliminary step that says "partially lever out cover on inner door window frame" so here's a link to the steps involved in removing the entire door trim panel:
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...indpost&p=23054

Since you really only need to disconnect the connector from the mirror control unit, you may not need to entirely remove the door trim. With these instructions, you should be prepared for any condition.

Good luck!
