check out ths thread paul. http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...t=0&start=0
But u can first remove the trim then paint it to avoid any masking and taping. It's annoying to tape and mask everything and risk paint flying on the body and windows. I can help u. Text me.

I wonder how duct tape would look. It would probably give it that nice, gunmetal finish. Hahahahahaha!

Trimbrite makes an excellent blackout tape. The stuff works great but you need a little patience putting it on. Make sure you do it on a hot day so the tape has good flexability. I blacked out the crome trim on my 530 and it looks excellent -. Take your time to ensure you get no bubbles in the tape. I got it at Pep-boys for $6.00 a roll. You will need two rolls.

This is just strange - we're talking about 45k+ cars and.... electrical tape. When the real deal costs 250+ shipping?
Just for fun i asked my dealer what it would cost
$850 with parts and labor
that shit is just dumb so when people look for a cheaper route, it really is because the other route is robbery.
plus im not comfortable doing this myself

Another forum member on here showed me his car with the tape done. I kid you not you cant even tell the difference! He had to tell me it was tape I couldnt have told otherwise and its supposed to be weather resistant etc I'd try it ! A penny saved is a penny earned!

I just bought the 20 buck tape and installed it last night. Looks awesome! It took a long time though, like 3 hours. Very thin but strong. Also, it was a pain to use the razor blade. =p
