This modification is for '03 - '04 E60 models and for cars with semi-electric HEATED SEATS ONLY and one pretensioner on each seat (driver - passenger). If your car has not got seat heating from the factory, then this conversion will not be successful and the seats will not work at all.

I cannot guarantee anything so, anyone can do it at his OWN RISK.

AFTER THIS CONVERSION you have to unplug only the black clip-connector from new seat modules and plug it to your OLD SEAT MODULES in any case your car need a CIP UPDATE, so mark your old modules as LEFT and RIGHT and store them.

Black connector

Here is mwaly's post about his conversion from no heated seats with memory and two pretentiones (on each seat)
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=322210

Requested by vl20sas

First of all disconnect the negative pole off the battery
Let's begin with the driver's seat yellow connector, because vl20sas has a lot of work to do tonight.

Seats conversion-dr_wiring_old.jpg

The black connector remains as it is (without any modification)

The passenger connector needs the same mod

Unplug this connector here. It's in the trunk's fuse box (rear right)

Seats conversion-trunk_connector.jpg

Open the connector and plug a red wire 4.00 m length in the third place from right to left

That red wire is connected to Pin 2 in the first picture (driver and passenger)

Pin 4 (brown) goes to negative (-) enywhere on the car ie: a screw on car's body

Now make a pair of wires (one white and one yellow) so it will go from one seat to the other around through the glove compartment and the dashboard (about 5.00 meters)

Connect the white wire to pin 1 and the yellow wire to pin 3 from one seat to the other through the glove compartment/dashboard

Now open the glove compartment upper part see pictures below:

Seats conversion-glove_up.jpg

Turn - unclip and pull down this big cable connector to connect the yellow wire here and run it to the other seat.

Now you must connect the white wire to the seat heating switch connector on the dasboard.

Seats conversion-heat_connector.jpg

Open the connector and plug a wire to the third place from left to right and connect it to the white wire.

Connect now all three wires (red2 - yellow3 - white1) to the driver's connector as above in the first picture.

vl20sas...congrats on your new seats now finish the job and get rid of those errors...
nick....this will be a guide to all e60 seat conversion..
im wondering the red, white and violet wires that go through the glove compartment. are those for the seat heaters?
so if you dont have heated seats on your car and your new seats you skip that step?

brave man! Too brave might i say.
when you disconnect the cars battery and install something you get errors, after remap you ger errors, aka error messages, all can be deleted easily and no need for dealer when hobi's trunk switch was installed tha AS had to be recalibrated.

ps. Nikos is the man!
