Hi all

I'm new to the forum and I've already found it very useful. Only had my 530D for a month or so, but love it!!

Only problem is that the screenwash is blocked. It seems to be doing the headlamps, but not the windscreen. Was working up until it snowed very heavily here in London three weeks ago.

Local dealer said an hours labour will sort it. Surely this can't be too difficult for me to do by myself? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks all.

BTW I did do a search.

Some simple things.

When you activate the washer does water leak from a poor connection?

You have two pumps are they both working?

The pumps for the washers (both headlamp and screen) are attached to the washer reservoir hidden in the left fender. First, you have to take off the wheel. You can then get to the tank by simply undoing a few screws inside the wheel well. You will see two pumps there. The headlamp one is the longer one. They are both stuck into the tank. If the pumps are working, it might be that the grommet surrounding the end-point of the pump is clogged. This is the cheaper problem cuz the grommet costs like $3.00. If the pump is inoperative, you can get a replacement for about $35.00. I suggest you replace the grommet in either case. I had to do this for my 545i and took about 30 minutes. The stealer wanted to charge me $300 plus parts. Ridiculous. PM me for further details.
