After having my warranty claim for rusty wheel hubs rejected by the dealer, I?decided to sort out them out last weekend. I used ? ?http://www.bmwland.co.uk/talker/view...ght=rusty+hubs
for a guide and used
A wire brush
Sand paper
White spirit
Halfords paint preparation wipes
Hammerite smooth silver paint
Pretty straight forward job but takes alot of effort if your hubs are ?
as bad as mine. I only managed to get the fronts done as one hub took ?
alot longer than expected. I'll hopefully do the back hubs in the next ?
couple of weeks as long as this unusually warmish September continues.
Only 25k and covered in rust

One hour of scrubbing, then a bit of white spirit and then some paint prep wipes

All painted

Thought about doing the calipers but didn't end up bothering as they had no rust.

That's a good result. I painted mine as well. They weren't quite that rusty, but the car was newer back then. Seems like a common malady.

Your schedule for next 3 years:
1. Not sure you noticed the tiny stones in between tire treads. You need to work on removing them.
2. Radiator has a bug or two in between fins. NAPA sells a tool to straighten out the fins too.
3. Believe it or not, some dirt accummulates under the body panel flooring. Don't forget to wipe those panels down. (Must remove and re-install removeable panels.)
4. On a daily basis, dust gets into the air filter and micron filters. You could do those at night after you finish the floor panels.
5. Then you might want to read: "How to overcome OCD in 12 easy steps."
