With reference to the standard (non-advanced or non-high) climate fitment, has anyone managed to retro fit the later style black/chrome climate control and radio knobs in place of the old cheap black versions? My 520D is one of the early models from '05 and the newer control knobs would add a much better quality apearance.

I've searched the forums but can find nothing relating to this!

some ones all ready asked this, the controls are not interchangable and if there were it would not work, the whloe system is different

 

I found a thread relating to trying to install an advanced-climate unit and it would appear to be a major refit ....... all I would like to do is keep the existing basic climate and fit the knobs from the post '07 basic unit, ie. no change other than the black knobs for the black/silver ones (same knob design). The radio knob just pulls off so I guess this must be a feasable swap.
