Can anyone provide an easy explanation for how one can remove and replace the grilles on my 2005 e60? I saw a post on the M5 forum, but it was not as complete as I might like. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I asked the same question a year ago. It's time for me to do some good to others.

go to DIY in the E60 forum, type "grill" and ull c pictures step by step.
i did mine recently, took me 1 min.
open hood, theres a rubbur just aboce the grill. they are clip-ons, just remove them.
now this step is different from ALLLL STEPS,
remove the horizontal trim that is between fog-lights, under the grill. its a clip on too.
that way ull be able too insert ur entire hand easily and just unclip the clips.much easier way then any of the DIY u saw

Thanks guys. So much for my searching skills. I looked but didn't find anything. I did find the clip on between the fog lights and thought that would help the bottom, but figured that was too far away to help with the top. I going to give it a go within the next couple of days. Wife and child will be out of town so I can concentrate.

Yep, it was extremely easy once you take off the rubber piece above the grilles. I didn't have to take out the lower horizontal piece. It seemed that once the top 3 and side 2 clips were released, the whole grille came out easily. I can see how, when hit in the front, they might go flying out without breakage. My wife has the camera, but will post pics when she gets back. I am quite satified with the looks and will now probably do the lower horizontal trim next. Thanks again for the advise.
