removing plastic piece around door pins

Does anyone know how to remove the circular plastic pieces that the door lock pins slide up and down in? My door lock pins rattle and I want to line the inside of the circular plastic pieces. Alternately, does anyone know how to adjust the height of the door pins so they are more flush when they are in the down position?

DoctorJ,

The pin sleeves will come out very easily, but it will take a bit of work to get to that stage.

As you may have guessed, you will have to remove the complete door panel. The sleeves will then push out easily from the bottom. At this stage you may be able to adjust the pin height.
